I had written to photoshopuser.com about the video and received this gracious reply. I obtained permission to add it to the blog:

The iPod Flea parody ad was created as a spoof to be shown at a Mac trade show we held a couple years ago. David Pogue of the New York Times featured it and it exploded from there.

Apple asked us for a high-res copy to use internally but there has been no official recognition of this by Apple.

Also, it might be interesting to note that it was featured on a TV show on the Bravo network called ‘Viral Videos.’

What a great way to parody the idea, and it's great that Apple acknowledged it (though they have not followed through on this just yet).

I remember posting on Kevin's blog about the flattery of "copy catting" as with the Indiana Jones video that the kids reshot. What a way to pay homage to something you love!
